SLHBA Awards Student Scholarships

Isabelle Hernandez

Since 2004, the Southeastern Louisiana Home Builders Association has proudly supported local students in their pursuit of higher education through its Student Scholarship Program with two scholarship opportunities (Member Scholarship & Louis Daigle Trade Scholarship). Funded through the generosity of members and the success of annual fundraising events—including the Golf & Crawfish Scramble and the Family Bowling Tournament—SLHBA has awarded over $16,950 in scholarships to deserving high school and college students.

This year, we were proud to award three member scholarships at our June 17 Board of Directors meeting, continuing our commitment to investing in the future of our community and the next generation of leaders. Congratulations to all of you!

Isabelle Hernandez, daughter of Ashleigh Hernandez and granddaughter of SLHBA members Billy and Terri Ward, is a 2025 graduate of Central Catholic High School. She will be attending Louisiana State University this fall, majoring in Psychology with hopes of becoming a counselor.

A dedicated student and leader, Isabelle was involved in Key Club—where she served as Vice President and Media Manager—along with Beta Club, National Honor Society, the ARK Club, and the Hope Squad. She earned Academic All-District honors in both volleyball and softball and served as Co-Captain of the cheerleading team.

During the off-season, Isabelle stayed active in her community by coaching softball and serving as a Little League umpire. We are proud to support her as she begins this exciting new chapter.
