SLHBA Awards Student Scholarships

Riley Hamilton

Since 2004, the Southeastern Louisiana Home Builders Association has proudly supported local students in their pursuit of higher education through its Student Scholarship Program with two scholarship opportunities (Member Scholarship & Louis Daigle Trade Scholarship). Funded through the generosity of members and the success of annual fundraising events—including the Golf & Crawfish Scramble and the Family Bowling Tournament—SLHBA has awarded over $16,950 in scholarships to deserving high school and college students.

This year, we were proud to award three member scholarships at our June 17 Board of Directors meeting, continuing our commitment to investing in the future of our community and the next generation of leaders. Congratulations to all of you!

Riley Hamilton, daughter of SLHBA members Rob and Kara Hamilton, is a 2025 graduate of Vandebilt Catholic High School. This fall, Riley will attend Louisiana State University to pursue a degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders, with plans to become a Pediatric Speech Therapist.

During her time at Vandebilt, Riley was an active and well-rounded student, involved in the National Honor Society, Student Government Association, Bridge Team, Big Sis/Lil Sis Club, Sisters-In-Christ, soccer, cheerleading, dance, cross country, and track. As a member of the soccer team, Riley helped lead her team to All-District and Regional Championship titles.

Her hobbies include playing soccer, cheerleading, dancing, and working out with friends and family. We are excited to support Riley as she begins this next chapter of her academic journey!
